Miracles in the Quran

Mathematical Miracles

There is a mathematical miracles in the Quran that proves it is the word of God.

...He counted everything with numbers. (Quran 72:28)

Another miracle concerns incidents when the number of times one word or phrase is mentioned is equal to that of another phrase related to it. For example:

Times Times

Allah 4 letters [in arabic] Muhammad 4 letters [in arabic]
Lailaha ila allah 12 letters [in arabic] Muhammadur rasoolAllah 12 letters [in arabic]
Angels 88 Devils 88
Man 23 Woman 23
Life 145 Death 145
World 115 Hereafter 115
Heaven 77 Hell 77

Belief 17 Disbelief 17
Good deeds 167 Bad deeds 167
Iblis 11 Seeking refuge from Iblis 11

You may also independently confirm it by conducting a Google Search. If this is not enough, now please look at the number of times the following words occur:

Tongue 25 Sermon 25
Mind 49 Noor (light) 49
Say 332 They said 332
Calamity 75 Thanks 75
Hardship 114 Patience 114

Zakat 32 (taxes Muslims pay for the poor) Barakah 32 (blessings of one’s wealth)
Desire : 8 Fear : 8

You may also notice the incidence in the Arabic words of "Allah" SWT and "Muhammad" PBUH, wherein the number of letters in both words are equal. The same can be noticed in "La ilaha ilAllah" and "Muhammadur RasoolAllah"

Allah : 4 letters Muhammad : 4 letters
Laa ilaha ilAllah : 12 letters Muhammadur Rasool Allah : 12 letters

Allah's mercy prevails his wrath.

Punishment - 117 Forgive - 234

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: When Allah decreed the Creation He pledged Himself by writing in His book which is laid down with Him: My mercy prevails over my wrath. It was related by Muslim (also by al-Bukhari, an-Nasa'i and Ibn Majah). [Hadith 1, 40 Hadith Qudsi]

Sea 32 Land 13 Total = 45

% of Sea = 32 / 45 (x100%) = 71.11111111 %

% of Land = 13 / 45 (x100) = 28.88888889 %

Modern science has only recently discovered that the above figures represent the exact proportions of Sea and Land on Earth!

Man 23 Woman 23

Gender And The 23rd Chromosome Pair

Chromosomes are tiny rod shapes inside each cell of the body. There are 23 pairs of chromosomes (46 total) in each cell. Almost all the cells in your body have 46 chromosomes. There are two types of cells that are different. These are the eggs in a woman and the sperm in a man. They only have 23 chromosomes each.

When a woman becomes pregnant, her egg joins with the father's sperm to make a new cell. This cell will grow and divide into a baby. This first cell has 46 chromosomes, 23 from the mother and 23 from the father. All the instructions for how the child will grow are in the genes on these chromosomes. Each cell of the body will contain exact copies of the 23 pairs of chromosomes that were in the first cell that was formed by the egg and sperm.

The chromosomes are kept in a special part of the cell called a nucleus. If you had a very strong microscope, you could see the chromosomes inside the nucleus of the cell.

The Genetic Code Of The Bee

All the bees in the world have the same number of chromosomes, and that never changes. Male and female animals generally have the same number of chromosomes. But the bee is slightly different. Because the male bee has 16 single chromosomes and the female bee 16 pairs.3

The bee is thus different in this respect, that of chromosome number. This difference is indicated in the Qur’an thus: (Allah knows the truth.) The Surah “Nahl,” meaning bee, is the 16th Surah of the Qur’an. And 16 is the number of chromosomes these animals possess.

Surat an-Nahl, meaning “Bee,” is the 16th Surah. The bee has 16 chromosomes.

Whole cow milk contains about 88% water.

Cow's milk is 88% water. It turned out that the words "water" and "milk" in Quran 16:65-66 are separated by 88 letters.

The words "water" and "milk" are separated by 88 letters. Today we know that cow's milk is 88% water.

Distance

The number of verses between the Kaaba and Al-Aqsa Mosque is the same as the geographical distance between them.

The verses that contain the Sacred Mosque (Kaaba) and Al-Aqsa Mosque are separated by 767 verses; it turned-out that geographically they separated by 767 miles.

Center of the Quran and Earth

The centre of the earth consists of iron, and the centre of the Quran is Surah al-Hadid (Iron). Is this a coincidence?

Finally, I ask that if you have any doubt as to the accuracy of these numbers, by all means, please check them for yourself.

Can all this have been a coincidence? Could it be sheer luck? Could it be that Muhammad (peace be upon him) was such a mathematical genius that he wrote a book that combined a complete way of life along with a mathematically embedded masterpiece that included scientific truths and references to phrases that matched their equivalents or opposites? Any sound individual will tell you that he could never have done this, because he himself was an illiterate man who couldn’t read or write!

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) unlettered, He couldn’t read and write.

those who shall follow the [last] Apostle, the unlettered Prophet... (Quran 7:157)

You were not able to read or write before the Quran was revealed to you; otherwise, the followers of falsehood would have tried to confuse the matter. (Quran 29:48)

How did Muhammad write the Quran if he was illiterate?

It is true that Prophet Muhammed [PBUH] did not read or write.

Whenever the revelation came down to Prophet Mohammed, he memorized the verses regardless of how long of how many they were from the first time, and then dictated them to his companions who wrote them down immediately. Hence, the Quran was both memorized and written in different manuscripts at the same time.

Sometimes, when Prophet Mohammed Peace Be Upon Him received the revelation, he used to repeat the verses immediately, fearing that he may forget the revealed verses. So Allah Almighty ordered the Prophet to follow the recitation of the angel:

(O Prophet,) do not move your tongue (during revelation) for (reciting) it (the Qur‘an) to receive it in hurry It is surely undertaken by Us to store it (in your heart), and to let it be recited (by you after revelation is completed) Therefore, when it is recited by Us (through the angel), follow its recitation (by concentration of your heart) Then, it is undertaken by Us to explain it. [Quran 75 : 16 - 19]

After the death of Prophet Mohammed Peace Be Upon Him, the first Caliph Abu Bakr Al Siddeeq appointed the companion Zayd Bin Thabit to lead the task of compiling the Quran. Zayd collected the various manuscripts, and made sure that the new compilation includes the chapters that are both written in the manuscripts and memorized by hearts.

With the expansion of Islam into new territories, people started reciting with the different dialects approved by the Prophet, but every party thought that only his dialect was correct. Caliph Othman was made aware of this. Accordingly, Othman formed a committee of known and trusted memorizers (this was almost 14 years after the death of Prophet Mohammed). The committee included 5–12 members, including Zayd Bin Thabit. The committee made copies of the Quran, based on the original copy generated by Zayd Bin Thabit at the time of Abu Bakr Al-Siddeeq. Historians believe that the committee made 7 copies of the Quran, which were sent to Mecca, Al-Koofa and Al-Basrah, Al-Shaam (Levant), Yemen, Bahrain, and one copy was kept in Madinah.

Allah SWT said in the Quran : We have, without doubt, sent down the message, and We will certainly protect it. (Quran 15:9)

Miracles of the Prophets

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "There was no prophet among the prophets but was given miracles because of which people had security or had belief, but what I was given was the Divine Inspiration which Allah revealed to me. So I hope that my followers will be more than those of any other prophet on the Day of Resurrection." [Sahih al-Bukhari 7274]

...No Messenger was to show miracles without the permission of God. (Quran 13:38)

Allah SWT supported His Prophets with miracles, which are extraordinary events that are usually of the same nature that the people of that particular prophet excelled at.

For instance, the people of Prophet Moosa (AS) excelled at magic, so the miracle of Prophet Moosa (AS) was that he threw his staff and it turned to a serpent. Likewise, the people of Prophet Eesa (AS) excelled at medicine, so Prophet Eesa (AS) cured the blind and the leper, and gave life to the dead by the permission of Allah SWT.

Similarly, the Arabs excelled at poetry and rhetoric and therefore Allah SWT sent them the Quran and it was a miracle that they were not even able to compose one Soorah (Chapter) like it. Qur'an also contains miracles in various fileds including in science, which have been proving to be accurate as they are being discovered.
