Iron is not an earthly material but came down to earth from outer space. This may sound strange, but it's true.
Scientists have found that billions of years ago, the earth was struck by meteorites. These meteorites were carrying iron from distant stars that had exploded.
The Quran says the following on the origin of iron :
"...We sent down iron with its great inherent strength and its many benefits for humankind..." [Quran 57 : 25]
Allah SWT uses the words "sent down" for iron. The verse makes it clear that iron is not an earthly material but was sent down from space.
This is yet another proof that Islam is the true religion. How could Islam have known this 1,400 years ago when modern science has only discovered it recently?
Is it just a coincidence—or a sign of Allah—that the center of the Earth is made of iron, and the center chapter of the Quran is called "The Iron" (Al-Hadid)?
