A sign for Mankind


This is the dead body of Ramses II, the Egyptian king in the era of Prophet Moses (peace be upon him). Its age is approximately 3000 years, and it was found by the Red Sea, at the place called Jabalain, and is now on display in the Royal Mummies Chamber of the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.


The most amazing thing about this dead body is that it isn't a mummy. Scientists say that this dead body is amazingly preserved without any mummification; even all of the internal organs are not removed.


So what is the secret of such good preservation of this body? See the answer in the Holy Quran, where Allah Almighty said that the Pharaoh will be preserved as a warning for generations.


Allah (SWT) says in the Quran: And We took the Children of Israel across the sea, and Fir’aun (Pharaoh) with his hosts followed them in oppression and enmity, till when drowning overtook him, he said: “I believe that La ilaha illa (Huwa): (none has the right to be worshipped but) He,” in Whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am one of the Muslims (those who submit to Allah’s Will).” Now (you believe) while you refused to believe before and you were one of the Mufsidun (evil-doers, corrupts, etc.). So this day We shall deliver your (dead) body (out from the sea) that you may be a sign to those who come after you! And verily, many among mankind are heedless of Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). (Qur'an 10 : 90 - 92)


This is one of Allah’s major signs for the people who understand.


God shows you the evidence (of His existence). How can you then deny such evidence. [Quran 40:81]


...none but the unjust reject Our Signs. [Quran 29 : 49]


And who doth greater wrong than he who is admonished with the signs of His Lord yet turneth away from them... [Quran 18 : 57]

The story of Maurice Bucaille’s inspiring conversion to Islam.


Dr. Maurice Bucaille was researching the mummy of Pharaoh (Fir'aun) to find the reason for his death. He was a Catholic when he researched the 3000-year-old body of Fir'aun; he found sea salt, which was a clear proof and sign that Pharaoh had drowned. During the research, someone told him that in the Qur'an it is mentioned how he (Fir'aun) died [also that his body will be protected for people to see], and that was by drowning in water.


When Dr. Maurice heard this, he was astonished and amazed at how the Holy Qur'an, which was revealed 2000 years after the death of the accursed mummy, could know how his death occurred when the body of the Pharaoh was first discovered in 1898. At that moment he knew Islām was the truth, and he converted to Islam.
